Recently, Google Merchant Center (GMC) automatically enabled Local inventory ads for many accounts. As a result, some merchants may see the error “Missing inventory data.”
This issue often appears if your account does not provide physical store locations. Local inventory ads are designed to promote products that are available in a brick-and-mortar store, so if you only sell online, GMC expects data that you don’t have — which triggers the error.
If you do not operate a physical store, you can simply disable the Local inventory ads feature:
Go to your Google Merchant Center account.
Navigate to Settings > Addons.
Click on the tab Your add-ons
Locate Local inventory ads in the list of programs.
Select Deactivate.
Once this program is disabled, the “Missing inventory data” error will disappear soon
